Seagate now allows OEMs to incorporate slots into TVs, DVRs, PCs, game consoles, set-top-boxes, docking stations, and other consumer electronics devices to support removable GoFlex™ external hard drives. GoFlex ultra-portable drives are standardized on the new SATA USM specification, which enables Certified GoFlex Storage System slots to seamlessly transfer content between devices at up to 6GB/s. Compatible with USM
Universal Storage Module (USM) is a new open standard in data transfer interfaces approved by SATA-IO. USM-compatible drives incorporate an integrated SATA interface and support the SATA Revision 3.0 specification, which offers transfer rates of up to 6Gb/s.
USM-compatible Seagate devices: FreeAgent GoFlex and GoFlex Pro Ultra-Portable drives, GoFlex TV, GoFlex Net, and the GoFlex cables.
