![]() Barracuda 7200.11 SATA models with firmware SD04 or SD14 English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano | Português | 中文(简体) | 中文(繁體) | 日本語 | 한국 (한국어) A small number of Barracuda 7200.11 drives with firmware versions SD04 or SD14 may show and utilize only part of the available cache. Please follow these steps to ensure that your system recognizes the full cache.
Important:
More information: The product label will state the correct physical cache size. (i.e. ST31000340AS) however, the drive will functionally operate with the incorrect cache size value. This incorrect value will be passed from the drive, via "Identify Drive" command to the system BIOS, which in turn will now recognize the incorrect cache size. Seagate has since rectified the issue and would like to assure its customers that all its Barracuda 7200.11 hard drives have been correctly built to the cache size as specified on the product label. We would also like to reassure our customers that the performance and reliability of our Barracuda 7200.11 hard drives have not been compromised. ![]() |
