Note: If you have system compatibility problems with the v2 GUI version, please use the v1 Text version. It has the same level of diagnostic capability and hardware support. These two versions are updated and released together.
System Requirements for Running SeaTools for DOS
For instructions on how to burn an ISO image to a CD please view KB article #4648.
You can run SeaTools for DOS to test your disc drive if your PC has:
- at least one (1) disc drive. Seagate Technology disc drives will support enhanced features.
- an IBM / Intel compatible PC with a 386 or greater processor.
- SVGA 800 x 600 or greater graphics capability.
- at least 8 megabytes of RAM.
- 1.44 megabyte floppy disk or CD-ROM drive for the bootable SeaTools application.
SeaTools for DOS uses the FreeDOS kernel, which is distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL.
To obtain a copy of the FreeDOS kernel we used:
- Download a copy of the source code from our website.
- Request a copy of the source code in writing to: Seagate Technology, Technical Support, 920 Disc Dr., Scotts Valley, CA 95066 USA.
- Get the most recent copy at the FreeDOS web site at http://www.freedos.org.
