Seagate System Monitor is a convenient tool for monitoring the health of your Seagate server. It includes intuitive tools for tracking the server’s software, hardware and hard drives.
Storage — Available storage and the health of the hard drives. A green light means that the storage is working as expected. A red light means that the RAID has failed.
System — Number of consecutive hours or days the server has been running, CPU usage, memory usage and the speed of the fan.
Disks — Health status and operating temperature for the hard drives. A green light means that the hard drives are working as expected. A red light means that immediate action is required. You can also view the Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART) status, which is used for informational purposes when diagnosing hard drives.
Support — Availability of updates for WSS 2012 and Seagate System Monitor. You can also download system logs when troubleshooting a problem with Seagate technical support.
Notifications — Enable email notifications regarding the server’s health status. You must use an SMTP server to configure the notifications.
Network — Which Ethernet ports are connected to a network. A green light means the port is connected. A white lights means the port is not connected.
Volumes — Name, health status, storage capacity, file system, used disks and RAID.
General — Various server settings to customise behaviour.
