Some users have expressed a desire to backup Time Machine backup files to Amazon Drive using the Seagate Duet drive. Unfortunately, there are some technical limitations that prevent this from working.
Time Machine makes use of special features that only work on the Mac’s native file system:

Hard linked files and directories

Access control settings

Other special file system features
Cloud storage services, such as Amazon Drive, do not use the Mac’s native file system. This means they cannot take advantage of these special features. For these reasons, a Time Machine backup is not possible to Amazon Drive with or without the Seagate Duet software.
