RAID Fail' code displayed on RAID LCD display

RAID Fail" code displayed on RAID LCD display

In the event of an error, the LCD on the front of the drive will display a message describing the problem. Different actions are required depending on the "RAID Fail Code" displayed.

Condition 1:

RAID Fail
Code: 0

NOTE:It is important the drive is powered OFF while doing this. If the drive is ON, all data will be lost.
This error indicates there are not enough disks present to run the desired RAID level. All 4 disks must be in the enclosure. If they already are, power off the disk, and ensure each drive is firmly seated. To do this, remove only one drive at a time, check for obstructions of any kind, then place the drive back inside the enclosure.

Condition 2:

RAID Fail
Code: 1

NOTE:It is important the drive is powered OFF while doing this. If the drive is ON, all data will be lost.
This error indicates the disks are not in the proper order. To the right of the error message is the order of the disks as perceived by the RAID controller. If the sequence says "Code 1: <1324>", the next course of action would be to swap the positions of the disks in bays 2, and 3, as they are reversed. As another example, if the error is "Code 1: <4231>", swap the top and bottom disks, because they are reversed.

Condition 3:

RAID Fail
Code: 2

Unfortunately, this error can not be resolved. This error message means the Disks are there, but the RAID can not start due to corruption or another error. It does not indicate a physical failure. The RAID must be completely rebuilt to use the drive.

Other Errors:

Battery Failed
This error message is an advisory that the RAID internal battery has failed. Contact technical support for help.

Fan Failed
This error message is an advisory that the FAN has either failed, or has stopped reporting to the enclosure. Contact technical support
